Helen Heilala, MSW, LCSW
About Helen…I have been working in the social work field since 1996. I earned a Master of Social Work degree from Monmouth University in 2005 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey since 2012. I am driven by personal and family experiences to be an effective therapist. When working with people, I often ask myself how I would want my loved ones or myself to be treated? Experiences and life changing events can have a great impact on people and the direction of their lives. I am passionate to help and guide people through uncomfortable situations with the goal of teaching ways to manage emotions and processing life and personal events.
My counseling experience includes working with in-home counseling provider agencies contracted with New Jersey Perform Care and NJ DCP&P, and an outpatient counseling office. My other professional experiences include working in the school setting as a guidance counselor and Child Study Team Social Worker, and Social Service Director in a sub-acute and long-term care facility.
